How Energy Outlet asks before texting you

The permission we ask for on a phone call before any text is sent, and what we keep as proof.

When we text, and why

Energy Outlet answers its sales line with an AI phone assistant. From that number, the only text message we send is one you ask for on the call: a link to enroll in the plan you chose, sent to the number you are calling from. Nothing you did not ask for on the call comes from that number. Any other texts from Energy Outlet, such as rate alerts, happen only if you sign up for them separately.

How you give permission

Every call opens by telling you the call is recorded and that you are speaking with an AI assistant. Before any text is sent, the assistant asks you, word for word:

Want me to text the enrollment link to the number you're calling from? Just that link, nothing else — message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time.

Nothing is sent until you answer yes. If you say no, you are not texted, the call continues, and you can enroll another way. Agreeing to a text is never a condition of enrolling.

What we keep as proof

The question and your spoken yes are stored as a consent record, and the call recording and transcript are retained. Your mobile number and your consent are not shared with third parties.

Example of how the exchange sounds

Assistant: Want me to text the enrollment link to the number you're calling from? Just that link, nothing else — message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time.

Caller: Yes, go ahead.

Assistant: Sending it now. You'll see it in a moment.

The text you then receive:

Energy Outlet: here's your enrollment link: https://energyoutlet.com/enroll/[plan]?usage=[usage]&aff=voice-agent Reply STOP to opt out.

If the call drops after the link was sent, you may receive one reminder that the link is in that thread. That is the only other message from this number.

Frequency, rates, and opting out

  • Message frequency varies. Most callers receive one message.

  • Message and data rates may apply.

  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reply HELP for help.

At EnergyOutlet.com, we make shopping for electricity plans simple, transparent, and stress-free! We partner with retail electricity providers (REPs) and may earn commissions when users sign up for plans directly through us. These commissions never impact how plans are ranked.

Our listings are based on electricity rates and plan details—not compensation—so you get fair and unbiased comparisons. You can also sort and filter plans by contract length, rate type, provider, and more to find the best option for your needs!

We work hard to keep everything accurate and up to date, but plan details may sometimes differ from what’s listed on a provider’s website. Rates and terms change frequently, so we always recommend verifying the latest pricing and conditions directly with the provider before enrolling.

All our content—whether reviews, comparisons, or educational guides—is created independently by our team to provide honest, unbiased information.
